Important information in respect to re-opening the Ferrycarrig Active Club.

Welcome back! We are delighted to announce that the Ferrycarrig Active club will re-open on Wednesday 2nd of December 2020 and we are very much looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Since you have been gone we have been working away on implementing safety measures and procedures to ensure that the club and its facilities can be enjoyed by you, safely and with peace of mind.

We have implemented a full review of all hygiene practices, spaced out our gym equipment and have moved our classes to our spacious aerobics studio. We have introduced the use of a world leading long lasting disinfectant known as Zoono Z-71 Microbe Shield which provides 30 day protection against viruses and bacteria on all treated surfaces. We will of course be supplementing this additional viral protection with a continuous disinfection routine. Please note that all the air ventilation systems in our gym and pool deck are fresh air supplied and do not recirculate air.

As you would expect the Active Club is determined to abide by applicable public health advice, so there are a few changes that we will require your cooperation with in order to ensure everyone’s safety.

Booking your Gym / Pool time: To enable social distancing we have created a booking system for both pool and gym. Each adult member is entitled to book two slots of 50min each per day. At the end of each 50min slot our staff will ask you to leave the location so we can commence routine disinfection prior to the next members arriving.

In order to ensure that we can provide this service fairly and simply we have chosen the LegitFit system to allow everyone to book their appropriate slots online.  Please register for our LegitFit system by clicking the link below.

If you cannot register online, it will be possible to book via phone 053 9120555. It is advised to call us prior to Wednesday the 2nd of December.

The online Legitfit system is the fastest and most efficient means of booking your time slots at the Active Club.

Please note classes are back from Monday the 7th of December. Our class timetable will be available to book via the Legitfit system from Friday 4th of December at 10am.

So once you have your Gym and or Pool slots booked – what to expect?

COVID-19 safety general information: Covid crisis has created a new world for us all and there are required measures now in place to insure your health. The following measures are in accordance to COVID regulations for your safety and the safety of other members and our team:

  • If you have any symptoms or are not feeling well please do not enter the club. Cancel via Legitfit system.

  • Due to social distancing rules, access to the club is now by advance booking only. Register with us at as soon as possible!

  • Each adult member is entitled to book two slots of 50min each per day.

  • All members will be temperature checked before entry.

  • There will be no furniture available in the lobby; tea and coffee will be provided as a take out option if requested. 

  • Sanitisation stations will be available throughout the club for your use.

  • Please bring your own towel, water bottle and exercise mat. The Active club can no longer supply towels or mats due to COVID restrictions.

  • At the end of every 50min slot our staff will ask you to exit the Gym/Pool area in order to commence disinfection prior to arrival of other members.

Gym guidelines. Gym equipment will be spaced further apart or have screens to protect you while in use. Gym users are asked to arrive dressed to use the club and exit directly after their time. Changing room facilities will not be provided for Gym only users. Please ensure to bring your own towel and water bottle.

Swimming pool guidelines. Members may use the changing room if they have booked the pool but unfortunately due to public health advice the showers in the changing rooms are closed. Use the pool deck shower to rinse before entering the pool and before returning to the changing rooms.

  • Family pool slots of 30 minutes are available to book. We have extended family pool time to 8.00pm to allow the maximum time available.

  • Please bring your own towel and water bottle.

  • Please bring your own lock or purchase one at the club.

  • Please note we strongly advise users not to bring any valuables into the changing rooms.

  • Due to COVID there are no hairdryers available for use.

  • Please note due to COVID guidelines the Sauna, Steam Room and Jacuzzi will remain closed but we envisage a phased opening of these facilities in due course when it is safe to do so.

Class attendance guidelines. Open for bookings from Friday 4th December to registered Legitfit users. Classes begin on Monday the 7th of December. Members are asked to arrive on time and dressed to use the club and exit directly after their class ends. Changing room facilities will not be provided for class only users. Please ensure to bring your own towel, water bottle and exercise mat.

Other considerations to note: Unfortunately there are a few services that the Active Club has proudly provided over the last number of years that at the present time due to COVID restrictions are suspended until further notice: 

There will be no kids club facilities until further notice.

Family slots can be booked for the use of the kids’ pool – limited availability due to Covid guidelines.

Kids are not permitted to use the club outside of booked family slots.

There will be no swimming classes until further notice.*

*Private one on one swimming classes will be provided.

Your safety and the safety of your fellow members and our team is at the forefront to re-opening the club. We hope that the above measures are temporary but they are needed to ensure the club remains an active and vibrant part of our member’s health and fitness.

In the unlikely event of any member refusing to follow the COVID measures in place within the Club we will have no option but to suspended that member from the booking system for a period of 2 weeks. While we do not want to fall out with a member, public health must come first.

If you cannot use your booked time slot we ask you to cancel your slot so other members can avail of this time. In the event of a member repeatedly (3 times) not showing for a booked slot we will have to suspend that member’s booking privileges for 2 weeks.

If you pay by Direct Debit we will re-start your monthly payments from 2nd of December 2020. If you have paid in full for the year the time missed during lockdown will be added onto your membership.

Despite the challenges and changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are excited to welcome you back to a safe environment to help maintain your health and fitness.

Any adult member can book maximum 2x 50min time slots per day.

Access to club is strictly by booking only.
